Fed up of seeing a pop up when you save a file in your computer or on a share drive it would give you a error message as “Document not saved “. Updates to the Zipped file did not get saved?
I would like to share one of the simple and very useful steps in reducing the size of a file, folder and even a PST on the hard drive without Zipping.
Say for example, On a 1 GB space if you can save 1500 Excel file using this simple technique we can save up to 2500-3000 Files in the same space .
This is very easy and greater volume of data can be burnt into CD, By doing this system performance can be better and reduces the risk of system hanging.
Before compressing the file the size is around 674 kb,
To reduce it, right click the file
Properties->Advanced->Check “Compress Contents to save disk space”->Click “ok”-> Click “Apply”->
Now After Compressing you can see at least 50% of file size has reduced
I am sure this will help every one.
